The result shows on the day the footage is requested: the resolution does not allow identification where it matters, retention is shorter than the owner believes, and the recorder is reachable from the internet on a default password.

ITSP treats them as part of the network infrastructure. Before any hardware is bought we calculate resolution, frame rate and retention days, which is what actually determines storage, along with the PoE budget of the switch. Devices sit on a separate VLAN, and remote access is delivered through a controlled route.

What does building security systems as a network mean?

It means cameras and access controllers sit on a separate VLAN, that we calculate the PoE budget of the switch before anything is bought, that storage is sized from the retention days you need, and that remote access is never delivered by forwarding ports to the internet.

Do you also handle maintenance?

Yes, under a contract of scheduled checks on CCTV, access control and alarms. The fee is monthly, based on the number of points and the SLA level, not on an hourly rate.

Will you take over a system installed by someone else?

Yes. We start with an equipment audit and a findings report, so both sides agree on the condition we are taking it over in.
