Access Control Systems

We build access control for businesses: who enters where, and when, using a card or a code. We survey the access points, define rights by role rather than by individual, and integrate the system with the alarm and the cameras where they exist. You get a rights table and administrator training.

Who it is for

  • Sites with a warehouse or production area where not everyone should go everywhere
  • Companies with external contractors and visitors on site
  • Buildings running shifts, where access changes by time of day
  • Operations that want a record of entries, not just locks

When we are NOT the right choice

  • If a single door with a keypad is all that is needed
  • If there is no appetite for defining roles and rights
  • If what you want is time and attendance tracking, which we do not take on

PROCESS

The process

Indicative times from signature of the proposal, subject to hardware availability. Every project is shaped to the size and the needs of the client.

  1. 01Access point survey

We record every door that needs controlling, its type, and which roles should have access through it.Time: 2-5 working daysDeliverable: Door and role map

  2. 02Rights design

Rights are defined per role rather than per person, so that a hire or a departure does not mean rebuilding the system.Time: Alongside the designDeliverable: Rights table per role

  3. 03Installation

Readers and controllers fitted, connected to the network on a separate VLAN, and users configured.Time: 3-5 days for up to 8 doorsDeliverable: Working system with users configured

  4. 04Handover and training

We train your administrator on adding and removing users, and hand over access credentials securely.Time: On completionDeliverable: Administration instructions and handover protocol

What is included

  • Survey of access points and door types
  • Rights design per role
  • Reader and controller installation
  • Placement on a separate VLAN with secure remote administration
  • Integration with alarm and cameras where present
  • Administrator training and a workmanship warranty

What is not included

  • Building work and redecoration after installation
  • Electrical installation beyond powering the equipment
  • Connection to a third party alarm receiving centre, unless agreed separately
  • Monthly internet or mobile data subscription

Technology and equipment

  • Dahua (DHCA certified)
  • Hikvision (HCSA certified)
  • Card and code readers
  • Door controllers
  • Electric locks

From practice

Access control usually degrades through administration rather than through failure. When rights are granted per person, after a year nobody knows who can go where, and the fix people reach for is to open every door to everyone.

So we define roles from day one. A hire becomes a role assignment, a departure becomes a removal, and the rights table stays readable.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the site for the survey, and floor plans if they exist
  • Mains power at the equipment positions
  • A stable internet connection wherever remote access is required
  • A named decision maker on your side for the project
  • Roles and rights defined on your side

Cost

Every project is quoted after a site survey, with hardware and labour listed separately. There is no price list, because two sites with the same number of points can differ substantially in cost.

We do not publish a price list. Every proposal follows a site survey and separates hardware from labour.

What moves the cost

  • Number of doors and the type of each
  • Whether locks or magnets need replacing
  • Whether cabling to the doors already exists
  • Number of users and complexity of the rights model

Frequently asked questions

How long does installation take?

For up to 8 doors we plan for 3 to 5 days, from signature of the proposal and depending on the type of each door.

What happens when someone leaves?

Their card or code is removed from their role, and nothing else changes. That is exactly why we define rights per role rather than per person.

Do you also do time and attendance?

No, we do not take on time and attendance systems. Access control records entries for security purposes.

Does it tie into the alarm?

Yes. Where an alarm or cameras exist, we configure the systems to work together, so that an out of hours entry produces an alert.

NEXT STEP

Get control of who goes where

We start from roles and real operating hours, not from a door count.
