NINE AREAS

Maritime IT & Satellite Connectivity

We take on the communications and IT infrastructure of vessels and shipping companies: Starlink Maritime, VSAT, vessel networks, serial-to-Ethernet with Moxa and remote support under way. We always design with operational and crew network separation, and with multiple connectivity channels in automatic failover so one outage does not stop operations.

What sets us apart

Maritime IT is not office IT at sea. Bulkheads shield wireless signal, the engine room destroys office grade hardware, and connectivity drops without warning. We design for those conditions rather than around them.

Maritime IT is the part of our work with the least room for improvisation. A vessel has no second engineer one phone call away, and no option to wait until Monday.

That is why the design is always the same: separation of operational and crew networks, multiple connectivity channels with automatic failover, industrial grade equipment where conditions demand it, and remote access documented from day one. The same principles that keep a vessel running reliably make an office estate straightforward.

Who it is for

  • Ship managers and vessel owners
  • Vessels needing reliable connectivity while under way
  • Offshore, survey and ROV operations with real time data needs
  • Fleets that want one infrastructure standard across every ship

Technology and equipment

  • Starlink Maritime
  • VSAT
  • Moxa (NPort, industrial switches)
  • MikroTik RouterOS
  • 4G / 5G routers with failover
  • Synology

Frequently asked questions

Why must the crew network be separated from the operational one?

Because crew usage is unpredictable in both volume and risk. On the same segment as bridge and engine room systems, one infected device or one large transfer directly affects how the vessel operates.

What is the difference between Starlink Maritime and VSAT?

Starlink is a low earth orbit system with substantially lower latency and higher throughput. VSAT is geostationary, with higher latency and a different coverage profile. In practice they are combined, each acting as backup for the other.

Can you support a vessel while it is under way?

Yes, through secure remote access designed in from the start of the project. Without it, every incident waits for the next port call and for technician availability.

Do you also support the shore office?

Yes. Vessels and shore offices can be covered by the same agreement, giving one point of contact for the whole company infrastructure, from the office in Piraeus to the deck.
